In a relief to outsourcing employees in Lepakshi showrooms, the Andhra Pradesh coalition government has announced a pay rise after a rise in sales across the State-run handicrafts outlets.

BC, EWS Welfare, Handlooms and Textiles Minister S. Savitha approved an increase of more than 10% on the existing basic pay of Lepakshi outsourcing employees. The decision recognises the workforce’s contribution to higher sales in Lepakshi showrooms.

Lepakshi sales rose to ₹60.75 crore in 2025-26, prompting the government to reward employees for their performance, officials said. Ms. Savitha congratulated the staff and said she was confident sales would touch ₹80 crore this year.

She said the coalition government remained committed to the welfare and development of traditional artisans and handloom workers in the State. She said the handicrafts sector needed strengthening by improving marketing and encouraging greater public participation in promoting indigenous products.
