Woman stabbed to death by husband in broad day light

A 28-year-old private firm employee was stabbed to death by her husband while she was waiting at the bus stop with her minor daughter in the Kamakshipalya police station limits on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Rekha, a native of Shira and resident of Sunkadakatte, while the accused identified as Lokesh Lohithshwa was on the run.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Rekha was married and after separated from husband before moving to the city with her two minor daughters. She married Lokesh and also got him a job in her company as a driver. Probe revealed that Lokesh suspected Rekha was having an affair in her office and the couple used to have regular fights. On Monday, the accused armed with a knife followed Rekha and after heated arguments stabbed her multiple times and fled the scene.

The severely injured Rekha with around 11 stab wounds was rushed to the hospital where she was declared brought dead. The police have registered a case of murder and on the lookout for Lokesh.
