Asserting that AI (Artificial Intelligence) has a significant role to play in the era of communication revolution, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday said the State government will soon introduce an “AI policy” and exhorted the younger generation to contribute with their ideas and efforts towards making Bihar an AI hub.

While inaugurating the ‘Bihar AI Summit 2026’ at Urja Auditorium here in the State capital, Mr. Choudhary said through AI, Bihar will become one of the leading developed States of the country.

Stating that AI is going to become an important part of life, Mr. Choudhary said, “Around 1.2 billion people in India are using mobile phones today. A communication revolution has taken place in the country under the able and efficient leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

“Sustained efforts and initiatives will be undertaken to transform Bihar into an AI hub. The government will soon introduce an AI policy,” the CM said.

On the infrastructure front, Mr. Choudhary announced that the 125-km-long Ganga Expressway, to be built at a cost of ₹30,000 crore, will be completed within the next three years under the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model. A new four-lane expressway named ‘Vishwamitra Path’ will improve connectivity between Patna and western Bihar. It will be approximately 125 km long, including a nearly 90 km stretch along the river embankment.

The Chief Minister said the entire government machinery will be available to support students appearing for the NEET examination on June 21. Free bus facilities will be provided to students to reach the examination centres, the CM added.

‘Return to Bihar’

Appealing to the migrant people of Bihar to return home, Mr. Choudhary said they should come back from their workplaces to their homeland and repay their debt to the State. “The government is making efforts to ensure employment opportunities within Bihar itself for those who are forced to migrate for work,” he said.

The summit, organised by the IT Department in collaboration with the Bihar Industries Association (BIA) and Qlass EdTech, saw the participation of Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Information Technology Minister Nitish Mishra and founder of BharatGPT Ankush Agrawal.
