Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) general secretary (policy and propaganda) and Minister for Health and Family Welfare K.G. Arunraj on Thursday made it clear that instructions have been given from the party’s high command to functionaries, that only elected representatives can go on inspections.

Dr. Arunraj’s comments came against the backdrop of a woman claiming to be part of the party’s medical wing “inspecting” the Government Hospital in Sankarankovil which evoked strong criticism. The Minister said instructions have been given to the party workers from party president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, and general secretary and Minister for Rural Development and Water Resources N. Anand in this regard.
