Officials of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested a rowdy-sheeter and his associate for allegedly consuming alcohol while riding a motorcycle and creating public nuisance near Seegahalli Gate under the limits of Madanayakanahalli Police Station on Friday night.

According to the police, the duo identified as Harish, 32, and Nitesh, 27, was travelling from Tavarekere towards Bengaluru on a two-wheeler on Friday night when Harish, riding pillion, was allegedly drinking liquor from a bottle while the bike was in motion. The accused were also shouting loudly and behaving indecently in public, causing fear and inconvenience to passers-by.

Police personnel attached to the Organised Crime Squad, who were on patrol duty in the area, intercepted and apprehended both the accused along with the motorcycle. During interrogation, police found that one of the arrested men was a rowdy-sheeter at Madanayakanahalli Police Station and was involved in around 13 criminal cases. Police also discovered that non-bailable warrants had been issued against him after he allegedly failed to appear before court in connection with some pending cases. The second accused was also found to be involved in a criminal case registered at Annapoorneshwari Police Station.

Police said two separate cases have been registered against the accused at Madanayakanahalli Police Station and further investigation is in progress.
