The SPSR Nellore district administration has facilitated the export of 53,318 metric tonnes of maize to Vietnam to ensure better market opportunities for farmers.

Collector Himanshu Shukla, along with Adani Krishnapatnam Port Limited (AKPL) Chief Executive Officer Jagadish Patel, flagged off a ship named MV Parvaraj at the Krishnapatnam Port on Tuesday (May 12, 2026) evening.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said, ‘We have paid special attention to ensure that farmers get remunerative prices due to the high yield of maize crop in the district this year. As part of this initiative, necessary arrangements were made for the export of maize in coordination with the officials of the agriculture department.’

He further said, ‘The maize exports will provide farmers with wider market opportunities and increase the demand for agricultural products at the international level. This is an important step forward in the steps being taken by the government and the district administration to increase the income of the farmers.’
