The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its regional allies, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland Peoples Front (BOPF), have swept the 2026 Assam Assembly elections by winning 102 of 126 seats. The BJP-led Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA) is set to run the government in the State for the third consecutive term.
Meanwhile, the Congress-led six-party Opposition alliance, Asom Sonmilito Morcha (ASM), has won 21 seats with Congress alone winning 19.
