West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on Monday (May 4, 2026) appealed to party candidates and agents not to leave counting centres, as early trends on the Election Commission of India (ECI) website showed that the BJP was taking a lead in the majority of the seats.
In a video message issued in the midst of the counting of votes, Ms. Banerjee urged party workers to remain vigilant and not to lose morale.
