Congress leader Pawan Khera said anticipatory bail granted to him by the Supreme Court is a reminder “to those who misuse state power” that personal liberty cannot be sacrificed for political vendetta.
The Supreme Court had on Friday (May 1, 2026) granted bail to Mr. Khera in a case filed over allegations made by him against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife, saying the matter appears to have stemmed from political rivalry.
