J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday (May 1, 2026) expressed concern over the deletion of voters during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the country.

“The concern today isn’t Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), it’s voter deletion through the Election Commission’s SIR. If true, it’s a serious threat to democracy. We must protect every vote,” said Mr. Abdullah.
