Lok Sabha Member from Raichur G. Kumar Naik on Thursday (April 24, 2026) accused the BJP-led Union Government of attempting to push through women’s reservation along with a politically motivated delimitation exercise, and said the move had “backfired,” exposing what he termed the Centre’s “arrogance”.

Addressing a press conference in Raichur on Thursday (April 23, 2026), Mr. Naik said the Congress remained firmly committed to providing 33% reservation for women and had extended unanimous support when the legislation was introduced in 2023.
