MIDHANI, the Defence Ministry unit, has successfully unveiled the world’s first titanium alloy casting of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on the occasion of his 135th birth anniversary on Tuesday. The unveiling was led by Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) SVS Narayana Murty in the presence of senior officials. Titanium alloy casting, known for its high strength, corrosion resistance, and lightweight properties, is extremely challenging due to its reactivity at high temperatures. The firm has leveraged its expertise in aerospace-grade materials to achieve this breakthrough, showcasing India’s capability in precision casting of advanced alloys, said a press release.
