The Seshadripuram police on Tuesday arrested three persons for allegedly robbing a 25-year-old Sudanese national in Bengaluru on October 8.

The accused, identified as Philps George, 29, Vikram, 25, and Ajith, 29, were tracked down based on the online transaction between the victim and the accused.

According to the police, on October 8, around 12.40 a.m., the victim was returning from Koramangala on his two-wheeler. The accused, on a bike, confronted him near Rajiv Gandhi Circle in Seshadripuram and asked him to stop. Though the victim tried to flee, the trio chased him. The victim lost control and fell off his bike. The three allegedly caught hold of him, snatched his mobile phone and bike key, anddemanded to handover the valuables.

The accused allegedly forced the victim to transfer ₹11,000 from his mobile phone, took over his scooter, and fled from the scene.

With the help of passers-by, the victim called the police, who arrived at the spot, shifted the student to a hospital for treatment, and later registered a case of robbery at the Seshadripuram Police.

The police seized two two-wheelers (one used in the crime and one belonging to the complainant), four mobile phones belonging to the accused and the complainant, and ₹11,000 cash from the accused.

In a similar incident, the Kengeri police arrested two people who allegedly robbed valuables from an ITI student and his younger brother while they were walking home after dinner in Kengeri on Sunday night.

The accused, identified as Pratap, 22, and his associate Madesha, 21, were arrested based on a complaint by Sharath K. The victim, who had come for ITI training and was staying with his friend, was returning home along with his younger brother to his accommodation after dinner, when the incident occurred.

The accused, along with one more associate, allegedly approached them on a scooter, threatened them, and robbed their valuables, including a phone, watches, and even forced them to transfer ₹3,500 to their account online from his phone..
