Andhra Pradesh Congress vice-president Kolanukonda Shivaji on Friday raised concern over non-inclusion of a sub-quota for Backward Caste (BC) women in the Women’s Reservation Bill, scheduled to be introduced in Parliament on April 16.

The implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill (Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam) will be fast-tracked as a special three-day Parliament Session is convened from April 16-18. However, the proposed amendment to the Constitution (106th Amendment) Act, 2023, does not include a dedicated sub-quota for women from Backward Classes or Other Backward Classes.
