Satish Jarkiholi, Karnataka Minister and Congress leader, has said that he was misquoted by some media outlets in reports about the Enforcement Directorate searches at his premises.
“Some newspapers have reported that I have thrown a challenge to the ED to prove my overseas investment. This is far from truth. I have never said that,” he said in a video message. This is to clarify that I have not challenged ED or any other agency. I have not used that word anywhere. There is no question of posing any challenge to any agency.”
“There is no question of posing challenges to anyone, and I do not need to do such a thing. We are only working towards providing all documents to the ED regarding the issue. I have held three press conferences about the searches. I have repeatedly said that we are cooperating with the ED investigation and giving them all the records. However, some media outlets are reporting it in their own style that gives a wrong message to the general public and the concerned agency. What is more, such statements can be used against us. I therefore urge the media to report the facts and our statements as they are’’, he said in the message.
