The high-security arrangements and surveillance measures initiated by the police ahead of the Assembly elections will be maintained for a few more weeks to pre-empt post-poll violence in Kozhikode district. Night patrol and flash inspections will continue in all the politically sensitive areas included in the vulnerability assessment map.

According to senior police officers, the newly created police sub-divisions will also function under the designated team of officers till the election results are declared. The squads will stay alert at the district and State-level borders and continue with the vehicle-checking in assigned areas.
