BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav said that the party’s journey, which began as the Bharatiya Jana Sangh 75 years ago, has been phenomenal and marked by its unparalleled commitment to nation-building.

The BJP stood as a role model for political parties around the world under the tutelage of its founders,  he asserted, while calling for efforts to prevent the repeat of the  circumstances of 1947 when the country was partitioned on the basis of religion and torn apart by communal hatred.

Participating as the chief guest in the BJP Foundation Day celebrations at the State party office here on Monday (April 06), Mr. Madhav said BJP was operating with the motto: ‘nation first, party second, self last’ and observed that India emerged as a force to reckon with under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He stated that about 168 welfare schemes were being implemented by the BJP-led NDA government, which did historic things like abrogating Article 370 and getting Ram Mandir built in Ayodhya, and taking steps for notifying the Uniform Civil Code.

Mr. Madhav said while the world was embroiled in a war, India stood  strong under Mr. Modi’s leadership and his successes on the diplomatic front were commendable.

In Andhra Pradesh, he said, the BJP worked hard through many struggles and challenges and it has a lot more to do to make A.P. a progressive State.
