Arriving passengers being accorded a warm welcome at the Vijayawada airport on the Yatri Sewa Diwas on Wednesday.

Authorities at the Vijayawada International Airport celebrated ‘Yatri Sewa Diwas’ on Wednesday (September 17) by organising health, cultural and tree-plantation programmes. Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan planted a sapling on the premises in the presence of Tripura Governor N. Indrasena Reddy, Minister of State for Communications Pemmasani Chandrasekhar and BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav.

All arriving passengers were given a grand welcome, and former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the blood donation camp. An eye check-up was held for cab drivers and 100 people in total availed of the opportunity. A basic health check-up was conducted for departing passengers.

As part of familiarisation visit, 100 students from Class X of Zilla Parishad High School, Gannavaram, were brought to the airport. The authorities explained to them the opportunities in the aviation sector. There was also a drawing competition for children and a folk dance programme.
