Emphasising the role of ethics in professional life, Andhra Pradesh High Court judge Justice Gannamaneni Ramakrishna Prasad on Friday (March 27, 2026) urged students to work with honesty, commitment, and dedication, stating that individual growth ultimately contributes to national development.
He was speaking at a special felicitation programme at Vignan University, Vadlamudi, where parents of students who secured jobs through campus placements were honoured on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami. This year, over 1,100 students secured placements in more than 100 companies, with an overall placement rate of around 80%.
Justice Prasad expressed concern over the declining emphasis on moral education, noting that values, culture and ethics—key influences on human behaviour—are no longer adequately taught. “Without such grounding, education becomes mechanical and less beneficial to society,” he said, recalling the role of “moral science” in shaping a person’s character.
Highlighting the significance of parental sacrifice, he said their contribution is invaluable and often realised too late in life. He lauded the university’s initiative to honour parents, calling it a meaningful step in instilling gratitude among students.
Bheemashekar Atmakuru, chief guest from Tata Consultancy Services, described the event as a recognition of parental sacrifice and urged students to convert challenges into opportunities.
University chairman Dr. Lavu Rathaiah and vice-chairman Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu highlighted skill development, ethical learning and adaptability as key to sustained success.
