Telangana was supplied with more than 170% of petrol and diesel on Thursday (March 26, 2027) — when normalcy began to be restored at fuel outlets. Only a few vehicles were seen waiting for their turn to refill with the fuel on Friday, a stark contrast to long queues at the outlets in the city on Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to Telangana Civil Supplies Department’s latest data, 182% more petrol and 167% additional diesel was supplied. While the daily average supply of petrol is 5,883 kilolitre, the quantity of petrol supplied on Thursday was 16,609 KL. And 19,580 kilolitre of diesel was supplied against the daily average of 7348 KL.
“A grand total of 36,189 KL was supplied, far exceeding the combined daily average requirement of 13,231 KL,” as per the department. On Wednesday, 10799.5 KL of petrol and 11327.5 KL diesel was supplied.
2.19 lakh domestic cylinders delivered
In case of the domestic Liquefied Natural Gas (LPG), 2,19,980 cylinders were delivered across the State as on Wednesday (March 25, 2026), against the daily average supply requirement of 2,15,151 cylinders. This includes 92,799 cylinders delivered by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), 81,979 cylinders by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and 45,202 cylinders by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).
The Civil Supplies Department stated that unnecessary panic booking and hoarding disrupts the “smooth delivery system and create artificial bottlenecks.
