Thirumalai Charity, in collaboration with Chennai based Great Goals Football Academy, organised a football tournament for school students aged between six and 12 years at Vedavalli Vidyalaya school campus in Ranipet on Sunday.

According to a press release, the event was held to mark International Women’s Day celebrations. More than 300 students from Chennai, Walajah and Ranipet participated in the competition. The match referee was K. Sankar from All India Football Federation (AIFF).

In her presidential address, Bhooma Parthasarathy, Director, Thirumalai Charity and Thirumalai Mission Hospital, emphasized the organisation’s half-century legacy of social service. More than 150 girls in the region were given professional football coaching through Great Goals Academy, she said.
