The train No. 02683/02684 Santragachhi-Yelahanka-Santragachhi weekend special express, which has been running since the past one year, will now be operated as a regular weekend express train from April 2 this year, Nandyal MP Byreddy Shabari said.

The train with new number 18063 will start at Santragachhi in West Bengal every Thursday and reach Nandyal at 3.25 p.m. the next day passing through Duvvada and Vijayawada and leave to Yelahanka. In the return direction, Train No. 18064 will start at Yelahanka every Saturday morning at 4.50 a.m. and reach Nandyal at 1 p.m. passing through Dhone and Anantapur. It will reach Santragacchi at 5 p.m. on Sunday via Vijayawada and Duvvada.

The train will be entirely an A/C train. As it is now a regular express train, the fares will be 30% lower than that of a special train, Ms. Shabari said. The MP said people of Nandyal can now utilize this train service for their travel needs to Kolkata and Bengaluru.
