An Emirates flight that departed for Dubai from the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in Kerala at 4.40 a.m. on Monday (March 16, 2026) returned to Thiruvananthapuram following the closure of the Dubai International Airport and landed back here at 8.40 a.m.

The flight, carrying 353 passengers and 19 crew members on board, returned midway. Passengers will be shifted to the terminal, according to airport authorities in the Kerala capital.

A major fire erupted at the Dubai International Airport early Monday as Iran continued missile and drone attacks across the Gulf region in retaliation for the war initiated by the combined forces of the United States and Israel.
