10,453 allotted free seats in A.P. private schools in latest lottery phase

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the results of the second-phase lottery for free admissions under Section 12(1)(C) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act for the 2026–27 academic year.

In a statement issued on Tuesday (May 5, 2026), Samagra Shiksha State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao said a total of 10,453 seats have been allotted in this phase to students from economically weaker sections in private schools. He said that 54,647 students had applied across the State, of whom 54,016 were found eligible. In the first phase, 30,075 students within a 1-km radius of schools were allotted seats. The second phase covered students residing within a 1–5 km radius.
