The Kazhakuttam police have arrested a Thumba resident on the charge of assaulting a Pallithura resident following a property dispute.

The accused has been identified as Ribello Roosevelt. He was involved in a long-standing property dispute with Rajeena Stephen.

On the morning of March 10, Rajeena had reached Rajiv Gandhi Nagar at Thumba in connection with constructing a compound wall for a plot owned by her. She was talking to workers when Ribello reached the site and injured her severely.

She was immediately rushed to a hospital in Kazhakuttam. Ribello who went into hiding was arrested by the Kazhakuttam police from Pallithura, produced in court, and remanded.

Ribello is an accused in similar cases registered at both Thumba and Kazhakuttam police stations, the police said.
