Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the Roads and Buildings department officials to plan development of roads across the State in accordance with the Road Sector Policy -2047.

Roads should be developed in such a manner that commuters travelling from the State Capital can reach their destinations within specified time. Focus should also be on developing connecting roads effectively for making Hyderabad a traffic problem free city.

The Chief Minister gave the directions during a review meeting on road development on Wednesday. R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and senior officials participated in the meeting.

Officials were directed to take steps to start works on the roads identified for development at the right earnest. They should hold meetings with the GHMC and Revenue department to evolve clear road map for the developmental works without giving scope for any problems.

The Chief Minister wanted the officials to explore possibility of developing ring roads around all the district headquarters and once finalised, steps should be taken to link these ring roads with the National/State Highways. Extensive study should be undertaken on the issue and full scale plans should be prepared accordingly.

Mr. Revanth Reddy wanted expeditious completion of works relating to construction of major hospitals that were underway. This was necessary to ensure quality medicare to poor through these hospitals.
