The State government has issued orders sanctioning four instalments of dearness allowance (DA) for employees of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) and dearness relief (DR) for KSEB pensioners.

The DA and DR are for the period from January 1, 2024, to July 1, 2025. The government had approved a recommendation made by the chairman and managing director, KSEB, in this regard, Electricity Minister K. Krishnankutty said on Friday.

The DA and DR have been enhanced from 33% to 37% with effect from January 1, 2024; from 37% to 40% with effect from July 1, 2024; from 40% to 42% with effect from January 1, 2025; and from 42% to 44% with effect from July 1, 2025.

The disbursement of DA and DR at the enhanced rates will come into effect from February 2026. The disbursement of arrears will be decided subsequently based on the improvement of the KSEB finances, a Finance department order said.
