Candidates who have submitted applications for the Common Entrance Test (UG-CET 2026) for admission to various professional courses will be allowed to correct any errors in their applications until March 30, according to Islawauddin Gadyal, administrative officer of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

The last date to submit applications is February 27. The final date for payment of fees is March 3. Candidates who submit their applications within the prescribed deadline may make necessary corrections, if required. However, there will be no extension of the application submission deadline, he clarified in a press release.

Once the corrections are made, the updated details will be saved on the server only upon submission. Therefore, students are advised to consult their parents carefully before making any modifications.

SC candidates

Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates must obtain a caste certificate from the concerned Tahsildar mentioning the RD number under Category-A, Category-B, or Category-C (internal reservation categories). They must enter the RD number by editing their application on the portal. The deadline for this is March 30.

Currently, around 40,000 SC candidates have submitted applications. However, only 20,000 candidates have entered their RD numbers according to the internal reservation categories. The remaining 20,000 candidates have entered only the general SC RD number without specifying the internal reservation category.

Therefore, candidates who have not yet obtained the appropriate internal reservation certificate must immediately secure it from the Tahsildar and update the new RD number in their application. Only those who enter the RD number corresponding to the internal reservation category will be considered during seat allotment, he stated.

Applying for NEET

For admissions to medical, dental, and AYUSH courses, eligibility will be based solely on the marks obtained in the NEET examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Therefore, candidates aspiring to pursue these courses must submit a separate application to the NTA.

Although the NTA conducts the NEET examination, the seat allotment process in the State will be carried out through the KEA. Hence, candidates who apply for NEET and wish to secure a medical seat in Karnataka must also compulsorily apply and register with KEA, stated the release.

After the NEET results are announced, candidates will be given an opportunity to link their NEET roll number with their CET application.
