A 13-year-old girl, who learnt about child rights and ‘good and bad touch’ lodged a complaint against her father for misbehaving with her.

A sixth standard student of the Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) under Two Town police station limits explained to the teacher how her father was sexually harassing her.

The teacher alerted the police and the girl was shifted to a rescue home on Friday, said West Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) N.S.V.K. Durga Rao.

The accused, who was addicted to liquor and ganja, was allegedly abusing her daughter for the last few days.

“The girl complained that her father misbehaved with her in an inebriated condition. She would be sent for medical examination. The girl’s mother died and she is living with her father. A detailed investigation is on,” the ACP said on Friday.

“The victim developed courage after hearing a session on ‘Good and Bad Touch’ and reported the matter to her teacher,” an officer of Women Development and Child Welfare Department, said.
