A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Tadipatri Municipality and Arjas Steel Private Limited for utilisation of recycled wastewater from the municipal sewage treatment plant (STP) for industrial purposes.

The bhoomi pooja ceremony marked the commencement of the project, which reflects a model of collaboration between local government and industry for sustainable resource management.

The STP recycled wastewater utilisation project is designed to ensure scientific treatment and effective utilisation of recycled municipal wastewater, improve sanitation and public health standards, prevent environmental pollution and promote water conservation, support sustainable urban and industrial development and strengthen municipal infrastructure and financial sustainability.

Speaking on the occasion, Tadipatri municipal chairperson J.C. Prabhakar Reddy described the STP as a dream project for the town and emphasised that it will enhance sanitation standards and ensure systematic wastewater management across the municipality.

Tadipatri MLA J.C. Asmit Reddy highlighted the importance of public–private partnerships in accelerating civic development and appreciated Arjas Steel for supporting environmental protection efforts by utilising treated wastewater, thereby reducing freshwater dependency and simultaneously generating revenue for the municipality.

Jayaprakash Devaraj, chief operating officer of Arjas Steel Private Limited, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainable development and responsible industrial practices. He said the investment reflects the company’s dedication to community welfare and structured infrastructure support.
