The two children of Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor have approached the Delhi High Court seeking their share in the estate of their late father, industrialist Sunjay Kapur.

The petition, listed for hearing on September 10, challenges the validity of a will that purportedly leaves all of Mr. Kapur’s personal assets to his third wife, Ms. Priya Kapur.

Ms. Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur were married in September 2003 and divorced in June 2016. Two children were born during the marriage. Sunjay Kapur later married Priya Kapur in April 2017, and they had one child together.

The petition, filed through advocates Shantanu Aggarwal and Madhulika Rai Sharma, stated that despite the separation, Sunjay Kapur and Ms. Kapoor co-parented their two children until his sudden death on June 12, 2025.

Following his death, the petition claims that Ms. Kapur initially told them that no will existed and that the family assets were held under the RK Family Trust. However, weeks later, Ms. Kapur allegedly produced a will that bequeathed all of Sunjay Kapur’s personal assets exclusively to her.

The children contended that “the document had emerged under suspicious circumstances”, which was being kept away from them. They allege that neither they nor their mother was given a copy of the will.

The plaintiff submits that the purported will allegedly executed by their father “is not a legal and valid document, is forged and fabricated and in any event surrounded by suspicious circumstances”.

The petition seeks directions from the court to restrain Ms. Kapur from acting on the contested will, thereby denying their inheritance. The plaintiff said that, as Class I legal heirs under Indian succession laws, they are entitled to their respective shares in their father’s estate.

The matter is likely to be heard by the court on Wednesday (September 10, 2025).
