Minister in charge of Mandya district N. Cheluvarayaswamy inaugurated helicopter rides as part of the annual Budanur Utsav in Mandya, in Karnataka, on February 20.

The Mandya district administration had announced that tickets for the helicopter rides had been priced at ₹3,800 per head. The seven-minute chopper ride will give an aerial view of the festivities in Budanur, situated on the outskirts of Mandya.

Inaugurating the helicopter ride, Mr. Cheluvarayaswamy called upon the people to make use of the opportunity to view the landscape through an aerial ride.

He said the helicopter ride, which had been introduced as a new and engaging activity for people visiting the Budanur Utsav, will help boost tourism in Mandya.

This year’s Budanur Utsav, which is scheduled to be held on February 21 and 22, had been in a more unique and distinct manner compared to last year’s festivities, he said.

Apart from the helicopter rides, the organizers were also hosting various sports events and rangoli competitions.

Mandya MLA P. Ravikumar, Maddur MLA K. M. Uday, Deputy Commissioner of Mandya Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Mandya Zilla Panchayat K. R. Nandini and Superintendent of Mandya district police V. J. Shobha Rani were among those present at the event.
