Tamil Nadu Assembly pays tribute to Ajit Pawar, S.S. Rajagopalan

The Tamil Nadu Assembly on Wednesday (February 18, 2026) condoled the deaths of former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar; educationist S.S. Rajagopalan; former MLA N. Sundaram, who was elected from the Karaikudi Assembly constituency as a member of the Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) and later as a Congress member in 2001; and K. Lingamuthu, a member of the Communist Party of India (CPI), who was elected from the Kudiyatham Assembly constituency in 2011.

Assembly Speaker M. Appavu read out the condolence message, and the House stood in silence as a mark of respect.
