The Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS), the official mobile application of Indian Railways designed for booking unreserved train tickets, will be discontinued with effect from March 1. This change is part of a feature upgrade undertaken by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).

A press release issued on Tuesday (February 10) said that several key features had already been deactivated to ensure a managed transition. Passengers will find that season ticket bookings, new user registrations, and platform ticket purchases are no longer functional on the legacy app.

Besides, the R-Wallet top-up facility has been disabled. While the UTS app may still appear on various app stores, railway officials have cautioned that downloading or updating the software will not restore these services.

As the UTS platform reaches the end of its life, the Southern Railway has started directing all passengers to the new RailOne app. Developed by CRIS, RailOne is now the primary gateway for all unreserved ticketing and passenger services.

The new platform boasts several improvements over its predecessor, including a modernised user interface for faster navigation and enhanced security protocols for digital payments. Besides, it also has integrated passenger services designed for a more seamless travel experience.

The Palakkad Division of the Southern Railway has urged the public to download the RailOne app immediately to avoid any last-minute disruption to their journeys. Planning ahead and moving to the RailOne platform now will ensure that ticketing arrangements remain unaffected when the UTS app is fully decommissioned next month.

Passengers who currently hold active tickets or balances in their R-Wallet are encouraged to check the RailOne app for migration options or contact the station helpdesk for further assistance.
