The Telangana government’s WhatsApp MeeSeva initiative has emerged as a major milestone in digital governance, with 3.25 lakh people already availing various civic services through the platform.

While 4.5 lakh people registered for services, a majority have received certificates and approvals without visiting MeeSeva centres.

Introduced to eliminate long queues and reduce dependence on physical centres, the WhatsApp MeeSeva system has rapidly gained acceptance among people. Through the dedicated WhatsApp number 8096958096, the State government has enabled 24×7 access to civic services.

The platform currently offers 581 services across more than 10 government departments, making it easier for people to obtain income, caste, birth, death, and residence certificates. Other frequently accessed services include police challans, ration shop renewals, temple services, building permissions, vehicle life tax payments, licences, and property tax services.

One of the key advantages of WhatsApp MeeSeva is that applicants can track application status, receive real-time updates, and download approved certificates directly on WhatsApp, significantly reducing repeated visits to MeeSeva centres.

The service was formally launched on November 18, 2025, by IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu. Officials said the initiative has accelerated service delivery and strengthened citizen–government interaction. Applicants can submit queries, apply for services, make payments, and check application status through messages, removing technical barriers even for those unfamiliar with digital platforms.

The WhatsApp MeeSeva has also extended services to 31 temples across the State, enabling devotees to book darshan and accommodation online. In the near future, the government plans to integrate emergency services such as 108 and 102 ambulance services, fire services (101), LPG cylinder booking, and key helpline numbers.

80,000 – 1 lakh people served daily at 5,000 MeeSeva Centres

Alongside WhatsApp MeeSeva, over 5,000 MeeSeva centres continue to serve 80,000 to one lakh people daily. Between November 1, 2023, and January 31, 2026, MeeSeva recorded 5.98 crore transactions worth ₹3,811 crore, according to officials.
