A 25-year-old labourer was bludgeoned to death allegedly by his friend over a financial row in Karlapura under Rajanukunte Police Station limits on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Gangaraju, while Srinivasa, the accused, is reportedly on the run.

The duo reportedly got drunk and started arguing over a financial dispute on Friday night. The argument took an ugly turn when Srinivasa picked up an iron rod and attacked Gangaraju, the police said. The victim sustained severe head injuries, collapsed, and died of excessive bleeding, the police added.

The Rajanukunte Police have registered a case of murder and efforts are on to track down the accused.
