Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ram Madhav, who has been appointed by the party as in-charge of the upcoming Greater Bengaluru Area (GBA) civic polls, on Wednesday said the civic polls in Bengaluru was no less than an Assembly battle for the State.

Taking to social media platform X, thanking BJP national president Nitin Nabin for appointing him as in-charge for GBA polls, he said GBA polls is very prestigious because it is a conglomerate of 5 corporations that include several towns and more than 120 villages besides the city of Bengaluru. With an electorate of over 9 million and 369 corporation wards, it is no less than an Assembly battle.

“Local body elections are fought and won purely on local agendas and the strength and hard work of the local karyakartas,” he said, adding he will soon meet all the stakeholders including elected representatives of the party from the city.
