The police turned saviours for a four-year-old boy who accidentally fell into a well at Pezhakkappilly in Muvattupuzha on Monday (January 19, 2025).

A police team led by Muvattupuzha sub inspector Atul Prem Unni was passing by the area to investigate a complaint, when they heard desperate cries from a nearby house. The police learned about the accident as they rushed to the spot from where the cries were heard.

Mr. Unni entered into the well, dived to the bottom and pulled out the child who had submerged underwater, while his colleagues Ranjith Rajan and K.S. Shinu assisted in the impromptu rescue mission, according to sources with the Ernakulam Rural police.

The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, and his condition was said to be stable.
