The Transport Department on Friday stated that cases against 75 private travel bus owners were booked during special inspections conducted across the State from January 7

According to officials, the violations included transporting goods, failure to maintain a passenger list, and absence of first aid boxes.

According to a press release, instructions were issued to transport officials in all districts to intensify checks. Eight special inspection teams have been deployed in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts.

Given the rush on account of Sankranti holiday season, the department warned private operators against charging exorbitant fares and operating buses as stage carriages. Sleeper buses registered in other States but plying in Telangana will be inspected, and strict action will be taken against vehicles violating norms.
