A 37-year-old man from Bhimavaram in West Godavari district, who suffered severe cardiogenic shock due to hyperthyroidism, has recovered after treatment at Aster Ramesh Hospitals. Doctors placed him on veno-arterial ECMO, which allowed the heart to rest while recovery therapy was administered. After four days, his heart function improved from 15% to about 50%, following which he was weaned off all support. He is now stable and ready for discharge, said P. Ramesh Babu, Managing Director and Chief Cardiologist.
