The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Sub-Committee on Monday held its first meeting to review Andhra Pradesh State Litigation Policy 2025, aimed at strengthening governance and streamlining the State’s legal framework.
The meeting, chaired by Law and Minority Welfare Minister N. Md. Farooq, was held at the Velagapudi Secretariat. Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad, Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar, and Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav attended, while Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita could not participate due to unavoidable reasons.
The committee discussed measures to reduce avoidable litigation, speed up dispute redressal mechanisms, and enhance transparency and accountability across government departments. Mr. Farooq said the panel would examine administrative processes to prevent delays, ease the burden on courts, and ensure the timely and lawful filing of appeals.
Key initiatives include strengthening Lok Adalats, promoting alternative dispute resolution, and adopting proactive case management strategies. The Ministers will submit recommendations on policy interventions to improve governance efficiency.
Mr. Manohar directed Law Department Secretary Pratibha Devi to compile details of pending cases across departments before the next meeting. The committee will also study litigation policies followed by States such as Gujarat and Karnataka to strengthen A.P.’s policy framework.
Mr. Farooq said the steps form part of the coalition government’s broader effort to strengthen the legal system, minimise avoidable court cases, and enhance administrative efficiency across the State.
