Alleging that grave irregularities had taken place in Tirumala during the YSRCP term, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy on Wednesday said the sanctity of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) was compromised under the leadership of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Addressing the media at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said the irregularities committed during the YSRCP term were gradually coming to light.

He said the alleged use of adulterated ghee in the preparation of the sacred laddu prasadam had triggered nationwide outrage. Devotee facilities were grossly neglected, forcing pilgrims to face severe inconvenience, the Minister alleged. Mr. Janardhan Reddy said people were gaining clarity on the irregularities and the role played by then TTD Board Chairman.

Refraining from elaborating further “as the matters is sub judice,” he said the coalition government had begun correcting the system by ensuring strict quality testing of all the ingredients used in the prasadam and other services, including donated materials.

He said the government had decided to allow 90% of the common devotees to have darshan on the auspicious Vaikuntha Ekadasi. He said the public response to the coalition government’s governance was positive.

Highlighting the development initiatives, the Minister said industrial investments, recruitment drives and infrastructure projects were accelerating under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership. He also announced major road works worth ₹3,000 crore and assured completion of key projects within stipulated timelines. He also extending Christmas greetings to the public.
