In a pre-election result security crackdown, the Kothamangalam police on Sunday (May 3) detained six members of a group reportedly led by Arjun Ayanki, 29, a native of Azhikkal in Kannur who has been booked in eight cases.
The group was nabbed from a resort at Punnekkad near Kariyilappara. The Ernakulam rural police said the action was part of a drive codenamed Operation Steel Bird targeting suspected habitual offenders.
