Defence Minister Rajnath Singh presented the Raksha Mantri Award for excellence in public service (Divyang education) to Snehalaya School in Belagavi Cantonment.

Cantonment Board CEO Rajiv Kumar, Resident Medical Officer R.B. Annagol and school headmistress Deepali Naresh Patil received the award in an event in New Delhi recently.

It was selected in the category of maintaining centres for Divyang children.

Established in 2014, Cantonment Snehalaya has, for over a decade, provided free, inclusive and skill-oriented education to mentally challenged children, with a strong focus on holistic development and employability.

The national recognition underscores the institution’s dedicated service, committed staff and sustained support from the Cantonment Board administration.

Headmistress Ms. Patil said that the school will continue striving for the all-round development of its students, said a release.
