A.P. Director of Horticulture and Sericulture Dr. K. Srinivasulu on Monday (December 22, 2025) highlighted the importance of enhancing knowledge on pest resistance and climate resilience in the field of sericulture.
He was addressing the students and faculty members as the chief guest during national workshop on ‘Transfer of technologies for sustainable Sericulture’ at Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam in Tirupati on Monday. Mr. Srinivasulu also said that bridging the gap between research, teaching, and sericulture farming is a necessity.
The two-day workshop was aimed at bringing awareness among farmers, students, and other stakeholders and to facilitate the effective dissemination of proven technologies, eco-friendly practices and digital innovations to enhance productivity, profitability, and environmental sustainability.
On this occasion, organising secretary Prof. N. Vijaya Kumari, Head, Department of Biosciences and Sericulture, presented the objectives of the workshop and spoke about the importance of technology transfer in sericulture.
Vice-Chancellor of SPMVV Prof. V. Uma addressed the gathering and noted the importance of technology transfer in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, and introduction of nanotechnology in sericulture research.
