Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday (December 17, 2025) will move the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Bill, 2025, which seeks to replace the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), in Lok Sabha.

The Lok Sabha session on Wednesday will start with Question Hour, followed by the laying of papers by various ministers, including Dr. Jitendra Singh, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Jitin Prasada, among others.

The Lok Sabha on Tuesday (December 16) passed a bill to raise FDI in the insurance sector to 100%, with a view to providing insurance to all by 2047.

Replying to a debate on the Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Bill, 2025, in the Lower House, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said higher FDI will attract more players in the industry and make insurance policies more affordable. “Monopoly doesn’t give us that advantage, and therefore, the more the competition, the better the rates,” she added.
