CPI State secretary M. Veerapandian on Thursday met Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and invited him to the valedictory of the Communist Party of India’s (CPI) centenary celebrations in Chennai next year.

“The Chief Minister has agreed to take part in the event in February (2026). The party will also celebrate the birth centenary of communist leader R. Nallakannu and the birth anniversary of another leader, K. T. K. Thangamani,” Mr. Veerapandian said.

The Chief Minister was also invited to the conference of the Indian Society for Cultural Co-operation and Friendship (ISCUF) on the Palestinian issue. Delegates from various countries are expected to participate in the conference.
