Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao on Monday directed officials to expedite the clearance of pending e-Khata applications across all five city corporations, stressing that delays are affecting both citizens and revenue mobilisation.

At a virtual review meeting on e-Khata issuance, conversion of B-Khata to A-Khata, and property tax matters, Mr. Rao said a dedicated helpline — 9480683035, has been set up to address e-Khata-related complaints. Officials have been instructed to ensure that every complaint received on the helpline is resolved within the stipulated period and monitored separately.

Mr. Rao also asked officials to review all rejected applications to determine whether the rejections were justified and to take corrective steps where required. Immediate attention must be given to new applications and those seeking conversion from B-khata to A-khata, he said, noting that faster disposal would help improve the corporations’ revenue.

Special Commissioner (Admin, Revenue and IT) Munish Moudgil said the helpline receives nearly 1,000 calls a day, and the issues flagged by citizens were being tracked and resolved as a priority. He said that e-Khata applications should not be rejected without valid reasons and added that corporation-wise reports on rejection patterns would be compiled to speed up pending clearances. Mr. Moudgil added that commercial properties of major tax defaulters in the five corporations were being sealed to recover dues, while revision cases were being examined to collect outstanding property taxes.
