Andhra Pradesh Labour Minister Vasamsetti Subhash on Saturday lauded the role of employment officers in educational institutions, stating that they play a crucial role in shaping the State’s future by making lakhs of graduates job-ready.

Speaking at Placements 2025, a training programme for placement officers from engineering and degree colleges in the State, jointly organised by the Andhra Pradesh Training and Employment Officers Federation and P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts and Science, the Minister said that at a time when corporate giants such as Google, Reliance, TCS, Cognizant and Accenture are coming forward with massive investments in Andhra Pradesh, the role of placement officers becomes vital in achieving the goal of creating five lakh job opportunities, a promise made by the TDP-led alliance government.

Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce president Potluri Bhaskara Rao said employment officers should act as a bridge to close the gap between the skills of graduating students and industry requirements.

A poster was unveiled for a business expo being organised by the chamber at SS Convention Centre, Vijayawada, from December 12 to 14.

President of the IT Association of Andhra Pradesh Anne Indrajit, Infosys Visakhapatnam Centre Head Narra Suresh and HCL Tech Vijayawada Artificial Intelligence Club president Borra Suresh Babu guided the officers on strategies to help students succeed in campus placements.

P.B. Siddhartha College Dean Rajesh Jampala, federation president N.V. Surendra Babu, secretary Jagadish, joint secretaries Kavuri Sridhar and Himabindu, member Shiva Nageswara Rao and employment officers from 80 colleges participated in the event.
