Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. P.V. Nanda Kumar Reddy has resigned following serious allegations of ‘administrative and examination-related irregularities’. The resignation came shortly after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy sought a detailed explanation from higher officials of the Medical and Health Department over reports highlighting discrepancies in the university’s functioning.

Mr. Nanda Kumar is facing allegations related to irregularities in evaluation of examination papers, arbitrary appointment of in-charge officials, and other procedural lapses. According to sources, he has submitted his resignation to the Governor after meeting with the higher officials of Medical and Health Department in Hyderabad on Friday.

A preliminary probe by a three-member fact-finding committee constituted by the Principal Secretary to look into a complaint that a post-graduate medical student was illegally awarded extra marks and declared passed in violation of norms reportedly found discrepancies in the functioning of the examination branch. Following this, the Chief Minister expressed displeasure over the emerging reports and directed officials to submit a detailed account of how such violations were allowed to occur in a premier academic institution.
